This clinic and staff is amazing! My little Shitzhu needed an emergency c-section, they worked on her after hours and the puppies and my dog are well and healthy. I can’t express my gratitude enough. Thank you thank you!!

Our pug experienced an extremely painful broken claw while we were camping near Steamboat for our first visit to the area. Dr. Nate and team fit us in first thing in the morning on a Monday with zero wait even though we are not patients and had just showed up as a hopeful walk-in. He and his team treated our pug immediately and also trimmed his other nails preventively to make sure he didn't experience any other claw injuries during our trip. We were in and out in half an hour, and our dog was good as new immediately after they removed the damaged claw. We were also pleasantly surprised at how inexpensive this last-minute emergency visit was. What a great vet. I'm so happy to know we have them as a resource for future visits. Thank you, Dr. Nate! I couldn’t get ahold of my primary vet, I called Steamboat Animal Hospital during the weekend and left a message on the Emergency line. Within minutes Dr. Nate called me back and didn’t hesitate to tell us to bring our girl in. Our 14 year old companion, Molly, passed at home. We were able to bring her to Dr. Nate immediately after to have her cremated. The level of compassion and empathy Dr. Nate and his assistant had was unmeasurable. We’re so grateful that he was available and that someone so kind and genuine like him exists in this world. I highly recommend Steamboat Animal Hospital, your pets will be in great care. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you, Dr. Nate 🤍

My dog broke his leg on Sunday afternoon. Dr. Nate met us at the clinic and had him sedated and comfortable very quickly. We were very lucky to be able to get into surgery the next day. Everyone there has been patient with the stress that an event like this brings. Steamboat Vet is our regular clinic as well and I would never consider going anywhere else.

Staff was so helpful with our urgent livestock issue & care! Dr Lee Meyring made himself available to us, was very helpful, and supportive with my son and his 4H Steer. We live 2 hours from this office, and the Steamboat Vet team made our trip worthwhile with their level of genuine concern, care and professionalism. Dr. Meyring talked us through every step and procedure and got us back on the road quickly. Our steer is now on the road to recovery! Thank you! The Barrett Family

The people at this clinic are awesome! Very friendly, fairly priced and professional! I had a dog with an unexpected UTI while we were in town and I am very glad I chose them. We are even contemplating our annual rabies vaccination with a trip here to revisit. Thank you!

I love and TRUST Dr Stiff and Kaitlyn very much! They’ve seen 3 of my 4 animals, and solved their problems every time. Dr Stiff listens to your concerns, and does a very thorough examination of the animal before making any decisions and respects yours as well. I’m so happy I found them, and will continue going there. Highly recommend!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Absolutely phenomenal vets! This review is LONG overdue. We own 48 working horses and 6 working dogs… I swear we’re not collectors! They are all a part of our 26 year old business and family. Steamboat vet hospital is the place we go for specialized equine services beyond the scope of our local vet’s expertise or equipment. This is also the place we go for ALL of our small animal needs. Every single veterinarian on staff and their support staff are competent, compassionate and dedicated to their patients. They treat us and our animals with respect. They speak in clear, professional terms and never condescend. Recently (April), Dr’s Daughenbaugh, Bosses and Myering did a phenomenal job with an emergency c-section and puppy resuscitation. Every single puppy made it and was a picture of good health! And their mother also made a full recovery and since weaning her pups is as athletic and strong as ever. A couple months later (this week) another dog suffered a catastrophic orthopedic injury and Dr’s Stiff and Daughenbaugh again rode in to the rescue. They guided us through seeking external specialist care and helped us through the challenging follow ups and procedures. To top it off Dr. Daughenbaugh stayed late to perform a procedure for our dog. Such unbelievable compassion! Their team of awesome techs (Emily and Landon and a bunch of others whose names my concussed brain forgot) front desk and administrative staff round out the picture and insure that you and your four-legged family members will get professional, kind and courteous care.

Steamboat Veterinary Hospital got me in to their office the same day I called! Dr. Nate was deeply compassionate toward my fearful pup. He answered all of my questions (of which there were many :) with patience, graciousness and a lot of thought and care. He was thorough and really helped me diagnose and get to the bottom of what was going on with my pup. He was gentle, loving and very perceptive of what my dog needed from the moment he walked in. The front desk staff were also incredibly accommodating, welcoming, cheerful and kind. To me this makes such a difference when I am in a new place and especially in a stressful situation with a pup in pain. These folks are wonderful. Their pricing was also fair and it was clear that Dr. Nate was not trying to upsell or gauge me financially on other procedures and tests like another vet practice that quoted nearly $500 more. Forever grateful to Dr. Nate and all the wonderful people at Steamboat Veterinary Hospital for their compassionate help in a time of need!

Steamboat Veterinary treats our fur babies as if they were their own, and that kind of genuine care means the world to us. We’ve been seeing Dr. Gotchey and his team for several years now, and time after time they’ve gone above and beyond for our four babies—always showing them the same love, patience, and compassion we do at home. A huge heartfelt thank‑you to the front desk staff, who greet us with kindness every single visit; to the technicians, who make us feel safe, supported, and truly cared for; and especially to the doctors, whose dedication is nothing short of extraordinary. Their gentle approach, willingness to listen, and the way they take time to explain everything with such empathy gives us so much peace of mind. It’s clear they don’t just treat animals—they genuinely cherish them. Our recent visits with Dr. Natalia Stiff and Dr. Sabina Bosses reminded me once again just how remarkable this team is. The care, reassurance, and genuine affection they show our babies makes all the difference. Knowing our little ones are loved, understood, and truly safe in their hands is a comfort we can’t put into words. We are endlessly grateful for the hearts and expertise behind this incredible team.
